Achieving your goals sounds like it should be a simple thing to do. You want something, you work towards it, then you get it. Easy, right? I wish! It took me nearly twenty seven years to realize there is a right and wrong way to set goals.
If you’ve never had help in this area, it can be intimidating and discouraging. You’re at the start, and you can envision the end, but what are the steps in between? How exactly do you get from point A to point B?
Be Specific
The very first step is figure out what your goal is; to define it.
My goal is to lose weight.
It’s a start, but, we need to be very specific. So far, I’ve only stated that I would like to lose weight. That could mean by shedding fat or shedding muscle, and since the goal is to become healthier, shedding muscle is not a viable option. I need to include more details by defining how I’d like to lose weight.
