Reading People
Whether it’s facial expressions, body language, or the words coming directly from their mouths, people have a hard time with active listening. They listen to respond, not to understand, seeking validation for their own thoughts/ideas/opinions.
Time vs. Money
Time is not real; it’s an illusion, but humanity needed a way to measure our length of existence. Money is not real; just a material item we decided holds value. Between the two, time is the only thing we really have, but it’s limited. You can’t take money with you when you die, so you might as well live your life the way you want to live it. When you’re old and gray, laying on your deathbed, will you be thinking of all the riches and success you made of your life? Or will you be full of despair, reflecting on all the regretful choices you made, thinking you had more time?
Family
“Blood is thicker than water”, a phrase that some of us may hear when the topic of family is brought up. Like many other phrases, that’s only part of the saying, made popular to push a certain agenda or thought. The entire phrase is:
“Blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb.”
In other words, the people you choose to love and form relationships with, fosters a stronger bond than those that simply share your DNA. It all depends on how you want to be loved and how you share that love with others.
Choose your battles
One thing I’ve learned as a parent: choose your battles. You don’t want your kid doing XYZ, but really what hurt does it do? Why pick that battle? It helps you realize what battles you should fight and ones you don’t need to; not just with kids but with adults, too.

What are your thoughts on the matter?
